Pneumatic for Pedrosa?
After Nicky Hayden used it on several races, Repsol Honda announced that Dani Pedrosa will also use a Pneumatic valce Honda (RC212V) at Brno.
MotoGP is now taking a short break and will return on August 18. Injured Pedrosa is now 41 points behind Yamaha's Valentino Rossi and despite there are still some problems needs refinement with the pneumatic valve (as opposed to the conventional valve-spring engine), Repsol and Pedrosa decided to give it a try. It's said that Pedrosa will use it on Brno test, whether he will race with the pneumatic-valve engine will be decided later after the results of the test.

Anyway, Laguna Seca results under the cut. We all know Pedrosa didn't make it to the race but I think I'll just post the results. And as you might already know, Lorenzo did not finish the race and he was injured as well.

Pedrosa Withdrew From US Grand Prix
Due to his injuries, Dani Pedrosa decided to withdraw from US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca. He flew to US in hope that his injury will get better but on Saturday morning he decided that resign from US Grand Prix is the best decision.
"This has been a very difficult decision to take, but there really is no alternative," declared Dani. "Yesterday I struggled a lot. I rode in the morning using only painkilling pills and the pain was incredible, so I had an anti-pain infiltration before the afternoon session. Despite that, I still had a lot of pain. I did a nine lap run and it felt like 40 laps.
"When I woke this morning I had a lot of pain and the fingers were very swollen. I knew that I couldn't finish the race in these conditions," he revealed. "To face 32 laps would have been impossible, especially since this track is very physically demanding, with many uphill and downhill sections and many left-handers which demand a lot of effort from the left hand and arm.
"At least I tried - if I had stayed at home I would never have known if I could have ridden. Now I have three weeks to recover and do all the necessary rehabilitation to be ready to race in Brno in the best-possible condition," he concluded.
Stoner, Rossi, and Hayden were the first, second, and third fastest on the qualifying consecutively. Complete qualifying results under the cut

Dani Pedrosa unsure For US Grand Prix
Despite improving from 19th to 15th during Friday's pair of free practice sessions for the US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca, injured MotoGP title contender Dani Pedrosa is still decide if it is worth trying to race on Sunday.
"I'm feeling a lot of pain and this race is really long and tough, so we still need to evaluate if it's worth racing," confirmed, Pedrosa, who was riding with a modified Alpinestars glove on his heavily strapped, injured hand.
"This morning I went out just to see how I felt on the bike and to see if I could ride. I felt incredible pain, so we decided to use a anti-pain infiltration for the second session. In the afternoon I was two seconds faster, even though I still felt a lot of pain after doing a short run of laps," he added.
"This track is extremely demanding, with many left-handers and a lot of ups and downs," confirmed Dani. "The downhill sections are particularly difficult as there's more pressure on the hands which makes it even more of a struggle. I can stand the pain from my right ankle when I'm on the bike, but I have to use a crutch to walk."

Injured, Pedrosa might miss US GP
Following his crash on Sachsenring, Dani Pedrosa fitness to participate on Laguna Seca Grand Prix is in doubt. Repsol Honda has delayed the decision whether he'll participate in US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca this weekend.
After a detailed examination following preliminary exam, it's found that Pedrosa broke his left wrist and a finger in his left hand and sprained his right ankle.
After the race, Pedrosa admitted that his crash was unpredictable and strange, "It was a little strange. I had only just touched the brake and I crashed," confirmed Pedrosa after his first DNF of the season. "It was a real pity because I'd got a great start and was going well. I had a good feeling. The front felt perfect, the rear was sliding just a little, but the general feeling was good considering the track conditions. It is a real pity."
